This woman from Oakland, CA uses comics as a canvas to convey her mastery of plot twists. As she describes herself on Instagram, Joey Alsion Sayers is a “cartoonist, librarian, chip aficionado.” Other than that, on Twitter, she is a “mom of two boys and millions of bacteria.”

Joey Alison shares her artwork with 15.4k comic book lovers on Instagram and 16.3k followers on Twitter. Her comics have appeared regularly on The Nib, and she is currently writing for the Alley Oop comic strip on GoComics.

Joey Alsion Sayers currently writes for GoComics’ Alley Oop strip. Initially, this classic caveman comic strip was started in 1933 by V.T. Hamlin. Now Alley Oop is carried on by two people, Joey Alsion and his teammate Jonathan Lemon, who does the drawing. The strip revolves around the irrepressible Alley Oop, who travels from Moo’s prehistory to the 21st century in his friend Doc Wonmug’s time machine. The strip is followed by almost 28K dedicated readers.
